Proteomics in Agriculture and Healthcare 2021
Proteomics is a high efficiency mass spectrometry based; computer-aided technology used for large-scale characterization of proteins. Rapid development in this technology during the past few decades was associated with its application in identification of all the proteins in a cell, studies on interaction between cellular proteins, post-translational modification of cellular proteins and identification of proteins expressed in a cell under stress (e.g, high salt, high or low pH, exposure to toxic substances, infection caused by a pathogen).
Proteomics has found versatile applications in the field of medicine for identification of disease-specific biomarkers and discovery of drugs. It is also used for understanding the molecular basis of cancer and the changes in the pathways involved in the antibiotic-resistance of bacteria that has assumed the shape of a global crisis during the recent past. The purpose of this conference is to get acquainted with the various novel scopes of proteomic-studies in the field of agriculture and medicine.
We at School of life science, University of Hyderabad in association with Proteomics Society, India are planning to conduct a Conference on "Proteomics in Agriculture and Healthcare" during March 13-14, 2021 celebrating "Proteomics day".
The conference is focused on discussing the applications of proteomics in different research areas of Agriculture and Healthcare along with the advancements in the Technology. Students (Research Scholars), Faculty, Postdoctoral fellows can attend the conference. Registration is FREE for the participants.
